Mizuho Signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Business Cooperation with the China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC)

Mizuho Bank (China), Ltd., a subsidiary of Mizuho Bank, Ltd. (President & CEO: Koji Fujiwara), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for business cooperation with the China Chamber of International Commerce (Chairman: Jiang Zengwei, hereinafter "CCOIC").

Established in 1988, the CCOIC serves about 70,000 member companies and organizations nationwide that engage in business abroad, and also represents China in working with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). Under the auspices of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), which is controlled by the State Council of China, it employs both public and private networks in promoting a closer business collaboration among Japan, China, and Korea, such as establishing a council to promote business matching among the three countries in May 2017.

The MOU is intended to promote the exchange of information concerning direct investment among Japan, China, and Korea. It will also facilitate the exchange of information on economic and trade relations between Japan and China, as well as investment and business collaboration with the countries located along or surrounding the One Belt One Road route conceptualize by China.

Based on the MOU, Mizuho will work with the CCOIC to provide its clients with up–to–date local business information, in order to promote direct investment among Japan, China, and Korea, as well as provide enhanced support to Japanese companies investing or expanding business in China and/or Korea.
